Perceptions of the uses and efficacies of antimicrobials

Perceptions of the uses and efficacies of antimicrobials by the public, farmers and veterinary professionals

Professor of medical microbiology Mark Fielder of Kingston University joined the panel at Innovation for Agriculture’s antibiotic reduction conference on the 4th July at Stoneleigh Park. Having established an active research programme in medical and veterinary microbiology at Kingston, Professor Fielder is bridging the gap in tackling antimicrobial resistance (amr) between the two industries. Speaking at IfA’s conference, Professor Fielder said to efficiently tackle amr, we need to educate farmers and the general public, and this involves understanding what the public don’t know. Professor Fielder’s team are undertaking a study to find out more about people’s understanding of the uses and effectiveness of antimicrobials.  Visit the survey online via the link below. https://tinyurl.com/lmr8296
