Last week, a few members of the IfA team headed North to attend the Westmorland County Show.
Westmorland County Show is one of the oldest in the UK, having been running for over 200 years, and hosts a wide array of attractions from livestock classes, to vintage tractors, floral design and Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling! After it’s necessary cancellation last year, this year the show committee extended the event to take place over 2 days.
The Westmorland County Agricultural Society is one of IfA’s 16 consortium members and as such we were delighted to host a breakfast event on the first morning of the show. This allowed the team to reconnect with both past and present supporters, including partner organisations and farming friends who we have previously had the pleasure of working with.
The show was attended by over 29000 visitors, and even received a Royal visit from HRH Princess Anne and the Countess of Wessex. IfA had some great conversations with local and national farming organisations and we look forward to hosting similar hospitality across the country with our show society consortium members next year!
