The Innovation for Agriculture (IfA) Soil and Water team have recently returned from attending the Agricultural waste and residue management for a circular bio-economy conference held in Beijing, China. This was a joint conference between the Horizon 2020 projects AgroCycle andNoAw on agricultural waste and residue management bringing together over 200 stakeholders from industries, research, public bodies, educators and policy-makers from China and Europe. AgroCycleand NoAw are funded by the European Commission with additional funding from the Government of the People’s Republic of China. The programme of the event included 2 days of plenary conferences in Beijing (22-23 October) and three days of workshops, brokerage meetings and field/lab visits (24- 25-26 October). Many topics were discussed during the conference such as the role of bioplastics, future research priorities such as digestate management or the ongoing development of platforms within emerging novel business value chains.
