Join us on the 9th July for a guided farm walk with Will Blackburn around his farm.

Woolstencroft Farm, Spring Lane, Agden, Lymn, Cheshire, WA13 9JU

6pm – 9pm 09/07/2019

The inagural national Soil farmer of the Year competition aimed to find the best farmers and growers who were engaged with and passionate about managing their soils in a way that supports productive agriculture, biodiversity, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and builds soil organic matter and carbon.

Farm info: Will runs a 470 acre dairy farm on a National Trust tenancy in Cheshire on light sandy soils. Will moved his management system to focus on building soil organic matter to hold more water and nutrient on the light land. A few years ago Will stopped growing potatoes and started experimenting with direct drilling with an overarching focus on developing a fantastic soil structure and building humus. Will is using high sugar grasses as the pasture base for his Procross cows and is focussed on productivity from his herd, with good soil performance being a key part of the strategy.

The walks are totally free to attend and are open to everyone, but for catering purposes it helps if you can book a place.

Please contact Becky on or by phone on 01579 372376 / 07875 356611 for more information or to book your place

We hope to see you there!
